Details The steel steam trawler BELVOIR CASTLE (registration GY 2), fishing, was stopped and scuttled by German submarine UC 44 (a UC II type, under the command of Kptlt. Kurt Tebbenjohanns) 15 miles SE1/2E or 25 miles southeast from Buchan Ness on the 14th February 1917. It is reported that the skipper was taken prisoner, but there is no note of any casualties.
