Remains of a depopulated settlement. Remains of longhouses, enclosures and corn drying kilns, probably deserted in early 19th century when sheep were introduced. The settlement was recorded by field survey in 1983/4 and comprises a 3-sided stone enclosure with a longhouse, 14 m by 6 m, tied to it. A second longhouse, 28 m by 6 m, is partitioned with a frontal stone platform, together with a 3-sided structure set into a platform. A third longhouse, 8 m by 4 m, has a single entrance with another longhouse set at right angles to it. An enclosure, with no apparent entrance, is set inside and against the boundary wall. There are other longhouses some partitioned, some with single entrances, and one with a circular kiln at its northwest end. Beyond the head dyke, to the northwest, is a shieling together with a substantial enclosure with possible internal structures on hillside above. Also a cluster of shielings lie at the base of the hill slope beside the track.
