Details The town of Braemar, named Castletown on the Roy Military Survey map (1744-55), and shown on the 1st edition OS map as 'Castleton of Braemar'. It is not clear when the settlement was established, but it can be seen to have expanded between the 1st edition OS map (surveyed 1866) and the 2nd edition of (revised 1894). Now further expanded.
