Details Game larders, still in use, built in the later 19th century. The group of game larders are situated alongside the circular venison larder (NO29NE0061). There are two later 19th century piend-roofed largers and a late 19th century gabled larder. The two piend-roofed grouse larders are constructed from lathed timber on concrete base with gauze screened windows, decorative timber brackets to overhanging eaves and bellcast pyramidal roofs with fishscale felt tiles and lead flashing. The rectangular-plan piend-roofed larder is two- by three-bay, and has a door flanked by windows to the principal elevation, windows to the sides and a circular metal ventilator at the apex. The square-plan piend-roofed larder is three- by three-bay, with a door to the outer side and the remaining elevations each having a broader window to centre flanked by smaller windows, with each window echoed by small grille below. The pyramidal roof has a swept lead cap and a louvred, timber ventilator. The gabled deer larder is rectangular-plan, and constructed from lathed timber on a concrete base. The entrance elevation is three-bay and gabled, and has a two-leaf panelled door at the centre with a billetted lintel and a gauze screened rectangular fanlight. A window flanks at one side and there are antler trophies above the door and window. At the other side of the door is a metal door to a possible cold store. There are gauze screened windows to the side elevations and a corniced metal eaves gutter. The entrance elevation has decorative barge boards with a kingpost and finial, and the fishscale felt roof has rectangular, timber louvred timber pedimented ventilators to the ridge with billetted eaves.
