Former laundry and wash-house, now in residential use, built in 1853 by J Smith with alterations and additions in 1853. They were converted to cottages by Whitaker in 1927. They are two-storey, three-bay harled cottages forming a U-plan, and have exposed granite margins and quoin strips. They are sited to the north-east of Balmoral Castle (NO29NE0023). The graded grey slate roof has ashlar-coped skews and moulded skewputts, a coped and margined gablehead, ridge stacks with cans and small later rooflights. The south symmetrical six-bay elevation with projecting outer gabled bays. The east and west elevation are three-bay, with windows to the outer bays at each floor flanking blocked openings at the centre.
