Details Depopulated settlement comprising the remains of longhouses and enclosures which lie entirely on the right bank of the Gelder Burn with the exception of the field dyke which crosses the burn. The settlement extends for 600m along the burn and comprises twelve stone buildings, one of turf, a stone kiln barn and three small stone enclosures. An enclosed field (circa 5ha) lies to the north-west of the settlement with curving rigs visible. The kiln barn is built into a slope at the south-east side of this field. A recent vehicle track has been created through the settlement from the bridge on the Gelder Burn at NO 2505 9090 through to the field which is used for feeding deer. This has led to the demolition of some walls in the settlement and dumping of spoil on the kiln barn.
