The Ballater war memorial stands outside the Glenmuick and Ballater church in the square at Ballater. It was designed by Sir John J. Burnett, architect and takes the form of a tall Celtic cross, with decorated head, surmounting a slightly tapering rectangular base. The plaques themselves lie on either side of the cross base, forming a seat with a step up to it. It commemorates the dead from both World War I and II. It was unveiled July 23 1922.
