Details The Ballater war memorial stands outside the Glenmuick and Ballater church in the square at Ballater. It was designed by Sir John J. Burnett, architect and takes the form of a tall Celtic cross, with decorated head, surmounting a slightly tapering rectangular base. The plaques themselves lie on either side of the cross base, forming a seat with a step up to it. It commemorates the dead from both World War I and II. It was unveiled July 23 1922. Full transcription of memorial held in AAS Digital Archive.
