Station on the Deeside branch of the Great North of Scotland Railway depicted on the OS 2nd edition map. The station, comprising a single platform halt with a wooden building, was opened in 1876. It did not handle regular passenger traffic, instead being used to unload imported dynamite and load granite. The 2nd edition OS map also shows a weighing machine. The building (Listed Category C) has been converted for use as a dwelling. It is of vertical weatherboard above a rendered base course, with wide-entre tripartite windows, and canted angles below a polygonal roof. The map also shows another building, Station House (also still in use) within an enclosure to the northeast.
