Grass covered foundations of a large rectangular building, probably a hall-house or tower. Only one course survives, incomplete due to robbing, but indicating a building measuring 13.5m by 10.5m with walls 1m thick. One course survives of massive boulder foundations in the northwest corner. They may represent the foundations of a medieval tower of possible 15th-16th century date. This may be the remains of the tower referred to at NO 551 964 (NO59NE0035) as no remains have been recorded at that location. A small circular structure which lies circa 4m away from the foundations on the south side, in a damp hollow, possibly represents the remains of a stone-lined well.
