Details Farmstead, still in use, depicted on the 1st edition OS map as a square plan steading with central open courtyard. There is a sluice and mill dam to the northeast, three rectangular buildings to the east, and two rectangular buildings and an L-plan building to the southwest. By the time of the 2nd edition map, one of the rectangular buildings to the southwest had been removed while the L-plan building has been altered to a square plan, and one of the buildings to the east is annotated as a Smithy. An area of Nurseries is shown to the northwest. Today, the open square steading is shown as having been roofed over. All but one of the other buildings survive, although the dam and sluice are not shown. A standing building survey was carried out at this site by MAS in 2009 prior to conversion. The main block comprised a large quadrangular steading of mid-19th Century date around an open yard. In the early 20th Century the south range was removed and the yard in-filled with extra cattle accommodation. The north range had some surviving evidence of a former mill and threshing barn. The east range retained cart bays and farm workers' accommodation. There is a second freestanding cattle byre of mid-19th century date and a late 19th-early 20th Century smithy with the forge and bellows in situ. A small mid-19th century building is interpreted as a wash-house with a circular hearth below traces of a hanging lum. A large cast iron pot made in the Carron ironworks and circa 550 mm in diameter with a spout appears to have been a boiler used on the hearth.
