Mesolithic flint tools found two miles upstream from Inchmarlo Cottage, west of Banchory. Microliths include a worn blade, a core, a fragment of a steeply edge-blunted blade, and a characteristically dressed small triangle. A total of 1544 lithics have now been recovered from the field. Lithics in the Daly Collection, collected in the 1980s and 1990s, were assessed in 2024 as part of the Mesolithic Deeside Project and over 800 flints recorded as either Inchmarlo X or SiteX - Inchmarlo although no further details of location were noted on the Daly finds so unclear which field(s) he walked.
