Fisherman's bothy, a small building, constructed of roughly coursed sandstone blocks, with brick quoins and opening surrounds, and pantiled roof. There is one door and window on the west side, and a chimney on the north gable. Site visit in 2022 as part of the SCAPE Coastal Zone Assessment Survey. The land and cottage were gifted by Hercules Scott of Brotherton Castle to Captain James Simpson in recognition of his part in the rescue of nine crew and passengers of the paddle steamer Forfarshire, wrecked near the Farne Islands in 1838.
