Grain store dating from the late 19th century. It is a 2-storey building, with three projecting single storey bays at the rear. The earliest portion, a granary, is a rectangular block of random pink sandstone rubble. The newer portion, on the west side, comprises three gabled bays of dressed pink sandstone, the centre bay with the initials JSB and date 1896. The initials refer to the fish merchant John S Boyle, and this structure was built at the time of the herring boom, at which time the old granary was partially converted on the ground floor to store Baltic ice delivered in the winter. The walls of the lower floor were wood lined and an ice crusher was installed. The former granary was later used as a store.
