Details Underground signal station and accommodation for 600 personnel. The Inverbervie CEW (Centimetric Early Warning) Radar station was built in 1952, and comprising a singel storey bunker accessed via a guardhouse bunker constructed to resemble a typical farmstead or cottage, with further signal buildings to the rear of the property. The main bunker itself is completely self sufficient and designed for prolonged use after a nuclear strike. In the 1960s the site was taken over by the US Navy (until 1978) and the bunker modified and converted to two storeys. After being empty for 6 years, it was taken over as the Armed Forces Standby HQ to Craigie Hall and finally closed in 1993.
