Former granary, now in residential use, built in the early 19th century, converted to a dwelling with a new roof installed 1976-78. It is a four-storey, four-bay, rectangular-plan, terraced, harled former granary with snecked, roughly coursed rubble and squared rubble dressings to the rear. The grey slate roof has a coped gablehead stack with cans and ashlar-coped skews with block skewputts. The principal east elevation has a penultimate bay to the north comprising a broad recessed entrance bay with multi-pane tripartite windows at the penultimate bay to the north, and a panelled timber door on the return. At the outer north is a full-height window, there are four regularly-disposed windows to the south and a later small horizontal bipartite at the outer south. The first, second and third floors at the outer north with tall windows in former loading door openings, that to the third floor breaking the eaves into a projecting piended hoist canopy. There is regular fenestration to the remaining bays, except to the first floor outer south, which has a large plate glass opening to a former loading door, and third floor windows breaking the eaves into piended dormerheads. A flat-roofed garage extension adjoins at the outer south. The south gabled elevation is raised from piend to incorporate a gablehead stack. It has a flat-roofed garage at the ground, windows to the outer west and east at each floor above, except the first floor west with a glazed door and two further small openings to the centre at the second and third floors. The rear west elevation has largely symmetrical fenestration to small openings above the ground. Inside a Hemel sack hoist is retained at the third floor east. The 1970s roof has intricately engineered timbering to support the wide span. A timber-balustered staircase and a number of timber doors were salvaged from Marischal College, Aberdeen (NJ90NW0040 Aberdeen City HER) and installed during the 1970s refit. An open fireplace with stone chimney breast was salvaged from a 'local building' and also installed during the refit. Photographic recording was carried out in 2020 ahead of proposed refurbishment.
