Details Roofless ruins of small rectangular church, also known as Dalmaik Old Parish Church. It is mainly 17th century, but incorporating earlier, 16th century, masonry. It was rubble built with random stones, mostly of granite, and measures circa 17.2m by 5.75m internally. There are sections of surviving lime render. The west gable is complete with a bellcote and corbels for a west gallery, but the north and south walls only survive in part. The central pair of windows in the south flank were rebuilt in the mid 18th century. The east gable is complete but covered in thick vegetation. A piscina and the remains of a font are built into the wall near the southwest door, and a flat slab near the east end is embellished with a plain incised cross. There is a 1790 bell. It was dedicated to St Mayot when the church was confirmed to Aberdeen Cathedral in 1157. The letters L AS on the north side are the initials of the Rev Alex Scroggy 1607-21. The church was abandoned in 1837 after a new parish church was opened. A small commemorative text, stating the church remains were renovated in 1941. The churchyard is enclosed by rubble walls. It contains the First World War Commonwealth war grave of Prinate David Burnett Smith, Gordon Highlanders.
