Cruciform Gothic church by George Mathewson of Dundee. Dated 1837 with later alterations. Harled with granite margins and dressings. Orientated east-west with main entrance in the west gable, now re-cast internally with church entrance porch in southeast re-entrant. Pointed-head to the west gable main door with fanlight and plaque above in slightly advanced centre bay. Flanking long narrow pointed-headed windows with one above. Stumpy gabled belfry with angle pilasters, stone crosses and louvred vents. Some lattice-pane glazing. A 3-storey presbytery is incorporated in the building, accommodated in the east arm of the cross. Projecting glazed timber porch masks presbytery entrance in centre 2-bay east gable, lit by pointed-headed sash windows. Small single storey gabled wing at the northeast. Tomintoul slate roof.
