The remains of a depopulated settlement lie on the east side of the River Avon north of the Muckle Fergie Burn. It is depicted on the OS map of 1846. There are two distinct phases of occupation. Phase 1 consists of 19 turf-covered footings, a long irregular-shaped enclosure, a corn drying kiln and some field walls. Only the buildings around, and attached to the enclosure, are depicted on the OS map of 1864. Others would appear to be earlier. The second phase consists of 3 buildings, 2 enclosures and some field walls, probably a sheep farm. There are no traces of lazy beds in the surrounding area. Now only two buildings are still upstanding.
