Details Thought to be the site of St. Michael's Chapel, later replaced by Kirkmichael Parish Church (NJ12SW0006). It was recorded as occupying this site by the Ordnance Survey in 1874, described as a Roman Catholic chapel visible within the graveyard of Kirkmichael Church. However, there are no visible remains and local information has suggested that the chapel may actually have occupied a low knoll to the east, opposite the present church. Alternatively, the may have lain to the north-east of the present graveyard. The date of the chapel is uncertain though it may be pre-Reformation.
