Icehouse built in the early-mid 19th Century. It is constructed from tooled rubble, and is built against the slope. It is vaulted with an Egyptiannate style entrance. Interior morphology is a vaulted, conical, cylindrical, random rubble chamber built to serve the local fishing industry. The conical vaulted construction is more usually associated with domestic use, with commercial fishing icehouses normally being constructed with vaulted rectangular interiors. In this case, the issues with building it against a rocky outcrop would make a rectangular construction difficult, and so a conical style is used.
