Former drill hall depicted on OS 2nd edition 25 inch, 1905 map. The architect Charles Chree Doig is recorded as having overseen repairs to the Hopeman drill hall in 1909. it is constructed of rubble and has two large windows on the street frontage gable. It is not known which, if any units, were based here during 1914-18. It is recorded that a branch of the Scottish Women's Rural Institute was started at Hopeman drill hall in 1937. It remains in use as a dwelling, next to the Hopeman Memorial Hall (NJ16NW0098).
