Details Suspension footbridge, built in circa 1900 by James Abernethy and Co., engineers and builders, Aberdeen. It is long, narrow and low to the water. The pylons are tapered lattice girders finished with ball and spike finials and cross braced, while the walkway is a diamond lattice girder, and it is hung from the suspension wire rope main cables by links. The approximate span is 320 feet (98 metres). It is the only surviving suspension bridge in Moray. It is also known as the 'Penny Bridge', as the Elchies Estate charged a penny toll.
