Former school and drill hall, depicted on OS 1st and 2nd edition maps. The 1st edition shows the school building, designed by Thomas Mackenzie, 1850. It is of T-plan, single store, in Italianate style, built of harled rubble with tooled ashlar margins, and a rubble east elevation. It has a 7-bay north elevation, entrances at east and south, that at the south masked by gabled porch. The fenestration is squared-headed except in the gables where tripartites have block imposts and single small oculus above. There is a round-headed bellcote at the south able under a diminutive deep-eaved slate roof. By 1905 a new school had been erected, and this building was used as a drill hall, as depicted on the 2nd edition OS map. In 1914 the hall was the drill station for 'B' Company, 6th battalion Gordon Highlanders. The bell from the bellcote hangs in the present Aberlour primary school.
