Market cross, first erected in 1402, which marked limits of Cathedral sanctuary. In its present, form it consists of a tall column with an Ionic capital that is set on a four-stepped circular base and capped by a four-faced sundial and cast-iron finial dated 1733, during which year the cross was probably rebuilt. There was repair work done in 1867, and the sun dial and top of the column are copies from 1941, with the originals in Elgin Museum.
