Details Three human skeletons are said to have been discovered in an unsystematic excavation undertaken in 1858 just outside the outer walls of the castle. One skeleton was in a crouching position, the others horizontal. Several detached bones were found, as well aso a flint arrowhead, several potsherds, a copper coin of Charles II and a stone quern.
