Distillery, still in use. Built in 1831 as 'Glen Moray' brewery, in the classic layout of a Scottish farm steading, it was converted to a distillery in 1897 when warehouses were added to the north of the original complex, and existing buildings were greatly enlarged. Distillery cottages are sited to the east of the warehouses with Glen Moray House, added by the 2nd edition OS map when the site is name as 'Glen Moray - Glen Livet', lies to the east of the main complex. Ten large buildings have been added to the complex over the years. The original road into the Elgin passed through the distillery grounds under the shadow of Gallow Hill, where executions were carried out until the end of the 17th Century.
