Church, Presbytery and school. The church is still in use, and was designed by Thomas Mackenzie in 1843-44. Alterations by William J. Devlin in 1932. Gothic-style 4-bay rectangular building, orientated north-south with south gable to Institution Road. It was built with tooled ashlar and polished ashlar dressings, with a steeply pitched slate roof. Three cusped lancets to buttressed west elevation. Gabled porch to southwest with moulded pointed arched entrance. Large traceried (14th century style) window fills south gable with blind and ornamented bull's eye above. Small buttressed stair turret to southwest angle with truncated spire and cross finials. Presbytery also by Thomas Mackenzie, 1843-44. Built of tooled ashlar, with rubble flanks and ashlar dressings. Two storeys, asymmetrical five bays. L-plan with south arm of L adjoining north gable of church with linking passageway at re-entrant angle. Long asymmetrical elevation to west, with entrance and gable. Three gabled first floor windows rise through wallhead. There is an octagonal ridge chimney stack and triangular skewputts and slate roof. School by George Melvin, date 1872. Gothic style single storey school. Constructed in tooled ashlar, polished ashlar dressings. Single storey, 3-bay hall, south facing to Institution Road and linked at west gable to St Sylvester's Church. Two square hood-moulded bipartites with Gothic tracery. Advanced and gabled porch to right with pointed hood-mould and inscription over door, blind shaped oculus above, saw-tooth skews, louvred ventilation gablet, metal ridge ventilator. Slate roof with tiled ridge.
