House, dated 1866. Substantial 2-storey over raised basement, wide 3-bay house. Tooled ashlar with polished ashlar dressings and rubble flanks. Central door with pilastered and corniced doorpiece, approached by short flight of steps with original cast-iron hand rail. Panelled door with plain fanlight. Outer advanced bays rising to first floor with tripartite windows, angle strips and bracketed cornice between floors to both. Two-and 4-pane glazing to front, some 12-pane glazing survives at rear. Symmetrically placed pair of ridge chimney batteries, six square stacks linked by cornice to each. Wide ashlar eaves, shallow piended slate roof. Low 2-storey wing to rear with modern glazing to first floor. High coped rubble garden walls. Square stone gate piers with modern cement render and moulded pyramidal caps.
