Details Former mill, now in residential use. The Milltown of Auchindoun is depicted on the OS map of 1846 as a cornmill (labelled as Auchindown), with four small buildings and a lade leading from the river to it. A number of small houses forming the milltown lie to the West, with a small school slightly further West again. The present mill is a 19th century 2-storey harl pointed rubble building with tooled rubble dressings. It is built on an L-plan, with a prominent revolving wooden kiln vent with a faceted cap. There is a local slate roof with a stone ridge. There is the skeleton of a 6-spoke wood and iron start and awe wheel. In the undergrowth is a single ring start and awe wheel, which may have driven a generator. The mill ceased operation in circa 1935.
