Gate lodge attributed to Alexander Reid, 1897. Asymmetrical single storey castellated gate lodge with 2-stage tower, on island site bounded by road and 2 arms of entrance drive. Rubble built with tooled ashlar dressings. Entrance in north elevation (overlooking one arm of driveway), at the northeast angle is a 2-stage octagonal tower with corbelled and crenellated wallhead. Two-bay west front with projecting canted window and modern single storey, single bay addition at southwest. Crenellated and corbelled wall heads with cable moulding and piended slate roof. Enclosed by low coped rubble walls and cast-iron spearhead railings. Paired gate piers with flanking pedestrian piers survive at one arm of drive, ashlar with substantial pyramidal caps. No gates.
