Details Former drill hall depicted on OS 2nd edition map. It was built for the 5th Banffshire Volunteers, and opened 1878. It is two-storey with a five bay front, the middle three a gable. A hall, indoor firing range and garages lie behind. When opened it had a shop either side of the entrance. The hall was 60ft by 30ft with a stage at the far end, the walls decorated with stencils. In 1914 the hall was the base for 'D' Company, 6th battalion Gordon Highlanders.
