Remains of a castle or fort, known as Davie's Castle, situated in a strong naturally defensive position. It comprises the remains of a fortified enclosure measuring circa 30m by 50m and occupies the greater part of a steep-sided hillock. The fosse is well-preserved, 5m wide by 1.5m deep, and comprises of a strong ditch with upcast forming a slight bank on its outer edge. No entrance visible. In 2006 a topographic survey was undertaken using a plane table and automatic level. Drawings were made of the boundary bank and ditch at separate points and the whole hilltop surveyed.
