Former distillery, founded in 1824 and enlarged 1828, depicted on historic OS maps. The 1st edition shows a group of at least 9 buildings, including a smithy at the east end of the site. A mill lade runs along the north side from the west, past the distillery and on to the farmstead to the east. By the time of the 2nd edition, many of the buildings had been removed, leaving only the large building (annotated as a mill on current maps) at the north end of the site and the smithy. The mill is an interesting irregular 1 and 2 storey rubble building with the wheel pit for a mid-breast wheel, 0.9 m by 3.7 m. Part of the interior is of jack arch construction. Now used as a store. Building recording of the smithy was carried out in 2013 prior to proposed demolition.
