Roman coin hoard found in the Boyne. Gordon writing in 1726, described a hoard of Roman coins of which 27 were preserved by the Earl of Findlater. The coins included those of Antoninus Pius, Faustina, Otho and others. This is probably the hoard described by Chalmers as having been found near the old bridge, a little below the Tower of Deskford. Despite the gap of some 80 years between the two reports, Sir George McDonald regarded the two finds as being one and the same. No further information.
