Details A mound which existed outside garden of Dunphail until the late 18th century was said to have been the grave of some 14th century Cummings who were beheaded. The mound was opened in the 19th century revealing 5-6 stone coffins each containing a skeleton without a skull. OS (1965) noted that nothing can be seen of mound or coffins but the remains of three sides of a drystone enclosure, 0.5m high, which probably was constructed after mound opened are visible.
