Details	An archaeological evaluation was carried out in 1989 prior to a housing development adjacent to Sueno's Stone (NJ05NW0001). The OS 1st edition map shows a dovecot within this field (probably removed by construction of the A96 Forres by-pass), and other finds have been made in the field (stone coffin NJ05NW0006, metal 'weapon' NJ05NW0007, Roman coin NJ05NW0008, skeletons NJ05NW0009). Five trenches were excavated over the area of housing development, including two immediately west of Sueno's Stone. No archaeological remains were found in any of the trenches.
