Details Former stables and carriage houses affiliated with Moy House (NJ05NW0056), possibly built by Collen Williamson of Dyke in circa 1780. There is a symmetrical south facing stable and carriage house range, constructed of a pinned ashlar frontage with rubble return, and rear elevations with polished ashlar dressings. The 2-storey, 9-bay south front has a slightly advanced and pedimented outer bay with a large round-headed carriage house entrance. A similar centre entrance to the inner court if flanked by former 3-bay stables. Regular loft windows are used. Depicted on the 1st edition OS map as a rectangular steading with central open courtyard, labelled as 'Offices', and small rectangular building to the east. On the 2nd edition map of 1888, the small building has been altered to an L plan. Both original buildings survive. There is a centre octagonal single stage clock tower, with a moulded clock face in the south front, and louvred (some boarded up) openings in alternate faces. There is a moulded eaves cornice and an exaggerated bellcast, with an octagonal piended slate roof with an apex weathervane. Flanking and apex ball finials formerly decorated the outer pediments. The bases survive, and some ball finials lie beside the steading. The south facing range fronting hollow square is included in listing only, the rear U-plan complex is excluded. Photographic recording was carried out in 2019 ahead of proposed alterations.
