Details Hunting lodge built in 1847. Plain white hunting lodge now the centre of a great estate. In 1747 it was the site of a military patrol against cattle reivers, whose main route from Banff and Aberdeenshire was through Glen Avon and Glen Livet. Traces of graveyard nearby. Depicted on the OS 1st edition 1846 map as a rectangular and an L-plan building. By the 2nd edition OS map of 1888 the L-plan building had been slightly enlarged and a small rectangular building added immediately to the west. The buildings have since been further altered.
