Building and Post Office, still in use, depicted on historic OS maps. The 1st edition OS map shows an L-plan building. By the 2nd edition OS map the building had been reduced in size. On the 5th edition OS map the building is annotated as a Post Office. The Post Office occupies the ground floor of the building and overlooks the southwest part of The Square. The building is three-storeyed and built of coursed rubble, roofed in slate and has pedimented upper floor windows and plain gable copes. It construction is similar to the other commercial and residential buildings in the village of Tomintoul (NJ11NE0084). The entrance to the Post Office is formed within a cutaway and corbelled angle at the front corner of the building. A photographic survey was carried out in 2024 prior to proposed development.
