Cottage and steading, dating from the mid 19th century, shown on the 1st and 2nd edition OS maps, now in residential use. The cottage is single storey, 3-bay, and south facing structure, sited in the open end of a horseshoe shaped single storey steading, completing the circular plan. The former steading is now linked to cottage at the southwest by a set-back weather boarded porch. It is constructed from harl pointed rubble with tooled rubble dressings. The centre door of the cottage has been converted to a window, with 4-pane glazing in the outer elevation of the complex, but some modern glazing to the inserted fenestration in the inner face. There are coped end stacks and a slate roof, laid in a 'two thirds' style over the former byre. It is a very unusual plan form on so small a scale. It is derived from the late-17th century semi-circular steading incorporated in Dallas Lodge, circa 600m to the northwest, and the circular Round Square at Gordonstoun, Drainie Parish (NJ16NE0028).
