Details A fragment of a Romano-British trumpet brooch, found while metal detecting in a field to the west of Meadowhillock. Only the head survives, which is undecorated and flattened from damage. An integrally-cast loop holds an eight-coil spring with an internal chord and solid copper alloy axis. The stub of a catch to hold a separate headloop survives. Width 24.5 mm, length 19.5 mm, height 10 mm. Processed through Treasure Trove (TT 55/05), allocated to Forres Museum.
