Cup-marked stone, with symbols on the reverse, recorded in the late 19th century in the garden of Strypes. When the cup-marked stone was turned over it revealed carvings on the other side comprising a crescent, four cup-markings, and a V-shaped figure possibly a portion of V-rod. Part of the surface had been chipped away. The then occupier recalled that approximately 3 feet of the stone had been removed circa 30 years previously when a gateway was made through the wall. Also within the garden was a collection of quernstones, hammer stones, anvil stones and whetstones, together with various flint implements. The farmer also had a collection of jade and greenstone axes. The cup-marked and symbol stone is that found at Clackmarras, brought to Strypes by the farmer, and later sold and taken to Blackhills (NJ25NE0003), which was recorded in December 2020 by Scotland's Rock Art Project.
