Details BenRiach Distillery, established in 1898 by the Grant family. The distillery ceased production only two years later, in 1900, following the Pattison Crash, but was re-opened in 1965 and small-scale production continues at the site. It consists of a group of buildings of various dates, including a range of malting floors with a simple, large pyramidal-roof kiln and a circular section brick chimney. At the northwest end of the site is Hilton Cottage, depicted on the OS 1st and 2nd edition maps. In the 19th century a railway line through the site linked the distillery with the Great North of Scotland Railway line at the north end of Longmorn Station (NJ25NW0017).
