Details Graveyard and site of church. A mound in the centre of the graveyard marks the site of the church which went out of use in 1676. Later burials were inserted into the mound and no foundations can be seen. In 1995 a resistivity survey of six 20 m by 20 m grids was undertaken within the graveyard. The site of the former parish church was identified under a prominent mound covered with graves. In this case the cruciform church was represented by areas of low resistance, suggesting that the walls have been heavily robbed. It seems likely that this took place in the later 17th century when the parishes of Ogston and Kinneddar were combined, and a new parish church was erected at Drainie. There is some evidence to suggest that this later church included reused stone from Kinneddar. The graveyard walls contain remnants of 13th century AD walls. Gravestones include early flat stones with memento mori symbols (emblems of mortality) and a few table stones. Many stones refer to people drowned at sea. Within the graveyard is the Commonwealth war grave of Deck Hand James Wood Corstorphine (Royal Naval Reserve) who died on 23 November 1918. A market / mercat cross (NJ26NW0003) stands in the southwest area of the burial ground. Monumental inscriptions within the churchyard have been recorded by the Moray Burial Ground Research Group in 2003 and between 2005 and 2007.
