Former stable and carriage house, by John Baxter, 1769-83, located to the west of Gordon Castle (NJ35NW0010). Large hollow square, now mostly roofed for modern farm usage. Rendered east elevation, tooled ashlar elsewhere, tooled and polished ashlar dressings. Centre basket arched entrance with moulded surrounds, flanking slightly advanced and taller 2-storeys, 2-bay square angle blocks. Two-storey, 7-bay symmetrical north elevation with centre five bays slightly set back with round-headed ground floor windows and low first floor fenestration. Sash and case windows. Crenellated and corbelled wallhead and west wing with shallow piended slate roof.
