Details Mansion house, designed by A. Marshall Mackenzie, completed in 1901 for James Ogston who purchased the estate in 1898. It is a large 2-storey ashlar Jacobean house built of a light cream-coloured sandstone found on the site. The house has a fine terraced garden that was laid out on the edge of the ravine and stands within a designed landscape (NJ41NE0116). The house was converted to a 16-bedroom hotel (Kildrummy Castle Hotel) in 1956; the hotel closed in 2017.
