Harbour, built in 1855-7 by D. and T. Stevenson, engineers, and overseen by William Middlemiss. There is a long L-plan West pier, and a short East pier, with a parapet and protection walls of varying heights and tooled ashlar bollards. The 1st edition map also shows a lamp (beacon) on the east end of the west pier. The harbour is constructed of tooled rubble, and is of an excellent quality of stonework. It became disused due to silting and Buckie Harbour (NJ46NW0006) superseding it. It was finally infilled and turned into a park in 1985-6. An inscribed cast-iron plaque from 1986 details the history of the harbour. It is also known as Seatown Harbour.
