Details Barn and implement shed, part of the Rannas House complex (NJ46SE0005). The barn is a mid-18th century substantial single storey and loft barn with mill wheel at the West on the sloping site. Rubble stone construction with tooled ashlar dressings. Long 5-bay elevations on the east and west with chamfered margins to loft windows. Large entrance slapped in east elevation. Slates on barn probably came from Slateheugh quarry on the south side of the Hill of Maud (NJ46SE0057). The implement shed is a mid-later 18th century, 3-bay, east facing implement shed with gabled roof and series of slender gable tuskers (for securing ropes holding down former thatch - an unusual survival in Moray). It has a Welsh slate roof and run-off cavetto skewputts.
