Built in 1799-1804. East wing dated 1825. Kitchen wing added in circa 1930. The old house was destroyed by fire in 1798. Until circa 1980, Cairnfield was the ancestral home of the Gordons. It was designated on 22/02/1972, and its listing changed from a B to an A on 25/04/1989.
