Details Evaluation excavation was carried out in June 2014 on a circular feature recorded during earlier field survey by NESARS by 2013 (NJ50NW0080). The excavation revealed the full extent of a revetted platform with an internal structural feature (possibly a hut circle) of 12 m diameter. Samples gave radiocarbon dates of circa 1025-810 BC. Finds included large sherds of handmade prehistoric pottery, comparable to later Bronze Age domestic ware from other sites in the region and quantities of alder charcoal, the highest concentrations from the central area. One base fragment from a pottery vessel has impressions of a basket or mat.
